mystery tires and wheel?
I have these tires on some RC10 jelly beans(why this is in the buggy forum, not sure who reads other forums, but this gets the most attention).
Anyone recognize them? The sidewall says ADVAN, and they are worn, but judging by the pattern on the one half of the carcass, not that much.
These also match a tire I have on a wheel, that I have no idea the make or model. the rim is somewhat yellowish plastic, with a turbine looking pattern, with a plastic plate screwed on the back, it contains a bearing, I'd say the bearing inner race is something like approx 10mm, so it's a large bearing. I will retrieve it and snap a pic when I can. Anyone recognize this? I got it sooo long ago, and it was probably old back then, I'd like to see if someone needs it, might be a sweet old wheel that someone has been searching for for a long time.

That tread design is based on the Yokohama A008 tire and is part of the Advan series (being its flagship brand) perhaps HPI?

I think they are HPI. if you look real close you can make out the "H" and the "P"

cool, thanks for all the info, that makes alot of sense. I'll try and get a pic of that weird wheel when i get a chance, maybe it will help determine the timeframe.

Re: mystery tires and wheel?
wow, that wheel looks very much like the wheel I have. off-white, and a turbine looking center. The tires look almost identical, although I see that the fronts and rears are slightly different. I gotta go get that wheel and take a pic!
thanks for the info, that looks like it might be where they came from!
EDIT: Kent, you are the man, that is exactly the model it came from. From that watermarked link, I was able to look at the manual, and I have one of the front wheels, with tire, plus the two tires I have pictured.
Mystery solved!

Re: mystery tires and wheel?
The credit should actually go to my co-worker Yoichi. I knew they weren't HPI and I was fairly sure they were probaby from Japan. Yoichi recognized them and gave me the link. Looks like the Willy's Wheeler was a Japan-only product. Glad to help solve the mystery!
