What was under all that tape?

I thought noony would get this, but he didn't. Nice filthy Graphite team car covered in electrical tape and dirt.

Came with a clean Novak 410-M5, TQ20 rear and TQ71 front tires and "half-round" ball sockets. I think this is a super early 6036 Graphite Team Car, and should probably have a "four on a side" front shock tower. The tranny brace is an early stealth version as well, without the extension bumps.

The motor is a "Speedworks 350 2wd offroad", whatever that is... and the battery is a Trinity 7-cell Monster Horsepower 1400SCR. I haven't tried to revive it yet.

The previous owner "glued" the tires on with, I think, Ambroid cement. The tires came right off, and the glue will come off the tires with a little acetone bath.

Not a bad score, the white parts are soaking tonight, but they are really nice.

More when it goes back together.

If I am not mistaken, the 350 was an 18x2 from Trinity. I had the 4wd 427 on my graphite 10 car years ago. It went through bones like no tomorrow. The 350 was released in a retro version some years ago at 11 turns. I have an original (not retro) in it's original box at home. I can check it out more this evening.

I found the info on the Speedworks 350 in an old RCCA, you're right it is an 18T double.

What it looks like now. Everything is as purchased except for the front shock tower, gear cover, TQ71 front and Yokomo TF8 Hot Laps rear tires (I think they're 4WD fronts, but they look nice and lean on the rear). All hardware is as supplied... sorry noony, this was a nice score!

I can't believe how nice it cleaned up!

I did WD40 and Q-tip the screw sockets after I saw the pictures...

I think this is my nicest buggy.

What do you soak those dirty white parts in to get them so clean??? Looks awesome!!! I got a beater off ebay too and i'm hoping for a nice steal like yours here is the crappy ebay pic....just waiting to get this beast cleaned up when it gets here to see what its all about...anyone want a blue chassis?...

I use hot water and BIZ bleach detergent mixed with Zout stain remover (Zout...Shout, whatever. Whisk is probably the same

). It's good for general cleaning, but the "tape car" really wasn't too yellowed. I have not been able to find the magic solution to get yellowed stuff really white...

Is that a real AE blue tub, or just painted...?
