Composite craft top deck on TQ chassis

Hey guys,

Some of you know that I have a made a one off buggy with a TQ chassis that has a top deck that I made from a carbon fiber sheet. I have an opportunity to buy a composite craft top deck, but I am not sure how it will fit. I'm also using an original style RC10 body that may not work with it either. Does anyone know if I should go for it

Reggie, I really want it to happen, but there no since buying it if I have nothing to put it on. I would probably start a whole new project just so it had a car to go with. Trust me, that's what happened with a spare A&L tall front shock tower It all worked out in the end, but the wife is starting to question me on just how much money am I going to spend on RCs. Of course I replied, I'm just finishing this build

I'd say go for it. If it doesn't work out you can always peddle it back to the board here. I'm sure there would be someone that would take it off your hands

that would be nice if it was your typical car. I had trimmed the chassis to fit a 10T front end than used an A&L front shock tower to convert it back into a buggy. for a better visual check out the thread http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=10162

I guess I could start fresh with a new chassis, how much would you be asking?

I was thinking about putting a bug body on it. I might have to put the 10T front shock tower back on. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that big change yet, it would be a completely different beast then.

On my vintage nats build, I’ve mounted a Composite Craft worlds top deck to an Andy's pro graphite chassis, and it fit just fine. That deck is only 3.5" wide, so if that's the one you are considering, it'll fit widthwise on the TQ chassis. Provided your front bulkhead isn’t too far off, the length should be OK also.

I’d imagine the CC team car top deck would fit just fine as well.

And, skunk.werkz, I may have to take you up on that chassis down the road if you still have it in the future. I hope that chassis not in great condition, because it is going to get worked over pretty good with this build.

Actually mate its a whole car! haha, i know you are looking for something more project worthy so this probably isn't for ya. I'd actually be interested in that top plate if I planned on keeping the car but I have too many projects that are on the block as is.

Ah, sorry fella, I bought it this morning. Yeah, I don't need a whole car, don't get me wrong, I would like to have it. Like you and many others on here, I got to prioritize my projects and a whole other car right now would have the red flags go up with the misses.

Could you post a pic of the car so I know what I am missing? That might be a bad idea, but I think I can take it.

There is a reason I have been with my wife 15 years going on 16 years, which is 1/2 my life, so I would like to continue with that. Trust me Rod I push the limits to see what I can get away with so if I want to finesse this project, I better not start another. I always have time to start a composite craft buggy down the road.

Hey, while I have your attention...can alloy GT front bulkheads (2 pc) be used instead of a 10T front bulkhead??? and I'm thinking about using GT 0 deg alloy rear arm mounts too to strengthen things up.

GT bulkhead is the same as 10T/T2. Don't know what you mean about 2 piece? The GT zero deg mounts will work but will change the length of your car! I can't remember if it shortens or lengthens. But it's not the same!

And the 0deg mounts should lengthen it because the arms wouldn't be angled in as much.
