Re: Street fighter gets serious!

It's in now, just haven't had time to go break it in and run it.

Some Associated Speed!

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/IMG_0581_zps577f9e10.jpg Haven's had a chance to radar them yet in current configurations, but I'll give the run-down. First is the blue tub I had posted before, but with one major change; I plunked the LRP ZR.32 into my OFNA buggy, and replaced...

Re: Brown paper + unpadded vintage box = recipe for disaster

I've sent packages wrapped in the brown shipping paper before. It wasn't R/C stuff and was only like three times. The last time I did it I was told by the postal worker that they no longer accepted packages wrapped in paper as it has too high of a probability of being torn off. I had to bring it ba...

Re: Capo 8x8 military truck

Very cool!

If it were an M35A2, I'd seriously consider selling one of my 1:1 scale cars to fund it. Would look awesome parked next to my actual 1966 Kaiser deuce.

Re: Street fighter gets serious!

Better find you a long straight and a trustworthy radio! Yeah, it's not easy to control them when they start running 60, 70 or faster. Fortunately, I do have a nice straight away to run on, and it's just sloped off into fields on either side, so as long as I miss the fence posts, there's usually no...

Street fighter gets serious!

It was pretty fast with the LRP ZR.32 spec 2, but that really is a torque monster off-road engine, not a high revving screamer, so it got transferred to my OFNA Ultra LX Comp buggy. So, that beautiful blue engine: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/RC/101_1850_zpsea3a54c4.jpg Is gett...

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!

Was this your first "restoration"? Pretty much. I've brought many of them back from the brink and made nice drivers out of them, but never worried about correct original parts. Made no difference whether they had square or hex turnbuckles, original pipe, all matching OEM screws, etc. In p...

Re: RC10GT driving issue

I'm pretty sure you just bought that truck from me on the bay last week, especially since i mentioned this board. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n117/Hunter2506/IMG_0367_zps894ebc5e.jpg If so.... The trans is in good shape, I had it open for inspection before I listed the truck. Slipper should b...

Re: RC10GT Runner by Slotcarrod

No, the engine I rebuilt was a non pull start red head CV from an old Losi truck. I always knew the "X" in O.S. to mean pull start!
Oh, I assumed you were working with the engine that came in the truck.

Re: titanium hinge pins

try a magnet .. if they stick they are stock
Correct.

Beware, though, that stainless steel is also non-ferrous. A precision scale would tell you the difference between titanium and SS.

Re: RC10GT Runner by Slotcarrod

You got me? Not a CZZ for sure, but the diameter, depth and dish are exact to the CVR head, so I say "SCORE" because the blue looks so much cooler and less weight to boot! Both blue heads are OS and they are a different design but fit the same! The engine you started with is a CV-X, not a...

Re: My old is new / fun runner build.

I drill and tap the aluminum block first. Then I clamp the material to the aluminum block and drill the holes. I then run the screws thru the holes in the material into the tapped holes in the fixture. This allows me to run the contour with no clamps in the way. Now you all know my secret LOL. I'm ...

Re: RC10GT Runner by Slotcarrod

I was thinking if I can find enough used white arms in my stash?....  I would make it all white! White arms are easy to find. It's the GT-specific white parts that are rare. Rear bulk head, rear shock tower, rear arm mounts, trans housing, trans brace, throttle servo mount & spu...

Re: RC10GT Runner by Slotcarrod

Nice score!

Just a thought, but unless you want a runner with white parts, you could change it all out to black stuff, sell the white stuff, and probably turn a profit.
