Re: Nitro car recommendation

I don't know if you'd be in the used market to try out nitro, but I have a T-Maxx in decent shape. I have it listed locally-- I don't want to deal with shipping this thing. It's tons of fun as a basher-- a bit squirrelly on the track. That's why I'm getting rid of it-- the only time I get to run is ...

Re: This is my first post, new member, Howdy y'all!!!

Wow- your story sounds similar to mine. Was in the hobby from 1985-1987 and then packed everything away while life took over. I just got back in last year. It looks like you have a nice original 10 there-- very similar to my runner. There are lots of people here who can help-- just post up a...

Re: new member, but old RC'er saying hi!!

Fitchburg is RC Excitement-- good place to run, friendly staff and helpful racers. I've been there a couple times. They're year-round, indoor off- and on-road, as well as outdoor off-road in the summer. 106 is a good place to run too- Friday night racing thru the summer and Saturday racing May/June ...

Re: new member, but old RC'er saying hi!!

I'm in Goffstown. There's a track in Pembroke (106 Racepark) that I started racing last year after a 20 year break. I run modified stadium truck and 1/8 scale nitro buggy. I occasionally force them to run a vintage class too!! ;)

I like the hi-tech neighborhood that the test flight pictures were taken in. I hope he didn't hit the clothesline while trying it out- mamasita will be muy enojado.... ;)

Re: Help me!!

klavy- no offense taken! I run all my stuff- some more lightly than others, but they all see the light of day! I'm saying I have NOT used brake fluid, so I can't say either way. I have tried oven cleaner and got a brittle body. Luckily it was my first attempt at removing paint so I did it on ...

Re: Help me!!

I have seen some brake fluid posts too... but it was a matter of finding a specific kind according to those who had used it. I had nitro and oven cleaner available.... and the nitro garnered top honors!!

Re: Help me!!

DON'T do this until you get confirmation from others, but I have successfully used nitro fuel to remove paint on 2 bodies now and they seem to be fine. I had tried oven cleaner per other posts, but it seemed to make the body very brittle and I was not satisfied with the results (not all the paint wa...

Re: RC10Talk Race Team

No secrets here-- you all will be able to see my rides several times as you go by on the track!! I've got a 6 gear RC10-- I posted it up in the reader's rides section. I also have a Hotshot (with lots of vintage hopups) and Grasshopper/Hornet mess- all I've owned since the mid-80s. I'm not sur...

Re: *** The official VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS thread ***

That sounds just fine, Erich. It's your show!! ;) I think one of the earlier questions though was if there was a "cut-off" for registering to get a t-shirt and if you could register at the track on Saturday. I was curious about that part of it too. I'll be an equal-opportunity rolling road...

Re: RC10Talk Race Team

I'm a noob here, but pleeease accept me!! ;) I am working out the details to attend this. I would be there Saturday & Sunday-- can't swing getting down there for the day Friday. I may camp with the family-- looks like Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport would be a good day trip for them on Saturday. If ...

Re: Craigs List

I have to agree with the 'flaky' factor. I have found a couple items on craigslist, but what I use it for is to get rid of stuff without having to take a trip to the dump. Say you have some old windows from a remodeling project--- 5 cents a pound at our transfer station to get rid of it. Pos...

Re: *** The official VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS thread ***

Before Erich does reply, I had one other question. If there are significant numbers of entries in the 2wd and 4wd classes, would thought be given to splitting them up into pre-1990 and 1990-1994 groups? I know someone brought this up months ago on one of these threads, but I was just curious if that...
