My First Goldpan... Ideas?

Here's my first goldpan and next project. Just looking for ideas for the build. First I'd like to identify this guy's pedigree. It has an A stamp on the bottom. I'm not super famililar with these as far as all the edinger, Cadillac, etc, so any help would be great! I'm intrigued by Chad's (dynotech) last post about the new tranny he's gonna be making, and also all the jconcepts stuff for the re-re. I'm thinking retro-racer...

That's a Cadillac. It's interesting that the A stamp is so deep.
If the electronics are good, maybe you should clean it up, add a receiver, and make it a light runner.

got this from redscampi. along with another goldpan and red one. this one is a A stamp tub, i had built it up half way, decided to put on black andys a arms from another car. didnt like it so i built it up with all white nylon,and front wide track...

Looks good Matt! You can get bodies at Tower Hobbies for about 14 bucks. I just buy one or two a month.

I got a another goldpan the other day. I was happy with it untill I realized there was a hole in the side of the tub. :shock: I heard Jb Weild is the best to use to patch it, but then do I paint the tub or reanodize it? If so where do I send it to...

your best bet is to either live with the hole, or get it welded up. If you have it welded, you will need to have the tub refinished, the weldment will need to be 5356 alloy in order to be reanodized, or you can used 4043 and get it powdercoated....

Is it possible to paint a goldpan? Mine is pretty beat up and a new coat of paint would be good for it, i just dont want all the paint to flake off it right after.

I remember as a first year university student needing money for books and I had it at the local hobby shop for sale, it was a sad time. Of course I has too high of a price on it so it wouldn't sell :D
