I've ran a Mamba 5700kv in mine with a 2s lipo with no problems:smurf420 wrote:by the way nice knob comment..............ok so what would be the biggest size brishless motor i could get away with using safely in my car with out upgrading the transmission or tearing the shit out of it?

A 5700kv still might be too much though. I'd stay around 4600 or lower just to be safe Only thing I reccomend for the tranny is the newer idler gear. It's made of delrin and can take more abuse. Same part#.
Re: identifying marks
is there any thing between 4600 and 5700kv motors?...........i'm having to relearn every thing because things have changed so much since i was into RCing last

Yes:smurf420 wrote:is there any thing between 4600 and 5700kv motors?...........i'm having to relearn every thing because things have changed so much since i was into RCing last
LRP = 4700kv
Losi = 4800kv
Venom = 5200kv
There might be more but those are the ones I know of. I've never looked but there is a way to convert the Kv rating to a turn#.

Re: identifying marks
Brusheless motors are rated in KV. You can get a Traxxas VXL System (esc & motor) for $149 at tower hobbies. Thats the cheapest "name brand" Brushless set-up I've seen. It's a 3500KV motor.smurf420 wrote:so whats the price range of each...........and are they brushed or brushless?...............right now till i can afford it i'm going brushed
