I think that's a Kyosho TF-2 (maybe TF-3?)
The original chassis still is there but has been extended on the side with...something??? Kind of ground effect; as if it were built for highspeed velodrome runs, but the silvercan moter totally opposes that idea

Kyosho Pureten Nostalgic EP = TF-2 with side extensions for a more scale look.

Looks like that's the alloy chassis painted black, not the carbon chassis.

How do these run. I have the chance to get this for around $50. Just checking to see if its worth it (for someone who doesn't race on road much if any at all LOL)

Well, the TF-2 was Kyosho's competition chassis back in the mid-90s, so I guess they ran pretty well (haven't tried out mine yet). Parts are easy to get, too. However, this is the basic version without adjustable links and no alloy shocks, so 50 bucks is a bit much. 25-30 should be okay. On the other hand, the Nostalgic version is quite rare. Ask whether he still has the body (should be a nice 1960-1970s style body with lots of details). If so, and it's not all trashed, then 50 bucks is a good deal.

They also make a pretty nice base for a carpet buggy: just replace the arms with optima mid ones and get longer universals/shocks, and maybe some home-fabbed shock towers.
The wheelbase is allittle short for a buggy but that gives it that extra liveliness for indoor. For outdoor the gearboxes are quite open

Thanks for the info. I'll have to find out about the body. The car itself is supposedly never run. I'll go take a look at it.
