Optima Pro, plastic or cast aluminum knuckles?

There is a Optima Pro NIB on Yahoo! Japan. Looking at this pic it looks to include the plastic OT16V and not the cast aluminum version.
Is this what people have found to be the case with these? I am building one and like the idea of the plastic vs aluminum. Opinions?

Hmmm, that's interesting!
I have at least one vintage Optima variant (an ebay find) with plastic "knuckles" and I'd assumed these were aftermarket pieces.
I seem to recall the bearings and screws fit the plastic part better than the die-cast aluminum version so I consider them an upgrade.

So, what is the best way to get rid of these stains? Need ideas on how to clean this. They are clean now but still have the stains. I am not looking for it to be sparking shinning but I would like to get rid of the un-evened of the staining....

A vibratory tumbler seems like it would be gentler on parts. With a rotary tumbler your parts would tend to crash over each other I would think?

Picked up a junior-2 to restore. It was built with the stock plastic bushings on the axles. The wheels wobbled so much I thought one of the bushings may have been missing, but this is what I found when I took it apart.
I've never seen an axle worn...

i never thought of it like 1/4 of a kit but yeah lol. now i just buy a new bearing for a buck but bitd i would do all i could to save a bad bearing.

Hi all

I have a pair of Andy's steering knuckles I plan to use on a Mid or a Lazer and they have me a little stumped.
Rather than having the lip between the two bearings which locates them, they are smooth meaning you can push a bearing right...

Here's another technical question for you guys...it appears that the front hubs/knuckles for the Kyosho Lazer ZX5 & regular/Turbo Optima are interchangeable, the only difference being an extra outboard hole for a tie-rod ball.

I have the 3 racing versions for the ZX5, and had to cut them down 1-2mm in order to fit the Lazer ZX hubs (which used the cast OT style knuckles). -Jeff

This has probably been covered already, but I searched and couldn't find anything. What do you guys think about these aluminum wheels patterned after the Optima MID? They sure look nice to me but I wish he would make another version in the same...
