Re: 93 WCS poss ran at 93 Worlds UK? Magazine Feature!! :-D

Hey, Haven't been on the site for years, literally.... Had a big break. Glad to see you kept going with your build. Really awesome. I wish I had the same dedication as you. My WCS is in the same box as when I gave you info at the start of your project..... I got the body painted though. I had the ch...

Re: A piece of racing history: Official 97 Worlds YZ10

'97 it can't be. At the '97 Worlds warm-up in Pomona, the team drivers had modified YZ10's. The most obvious part was a very tall rear shock tower and a 2 parts top deck with a small shock absorber. That modified YZ10 was not run at the actual Worlds. Instead the prototype MX-4 was introduced and ru...

Re: Kinwald's TQ Yokomo from the '95 Worlds in Japan

Hey, thanks for posting. Would be nice to know a bit more about this particular chassis as some bits don't match with the car actually ran at Yatabe. BK ran Losi shocks in Japan, some screws don't look quite the same and some ball cups are of a different color. The chassis must have a nail polish ma...

Re: KORTZ circa '93~94

Hey Steve,
Thanks for posting. That Reedy race trophy looks even more massive in real.
Jeremy still has it, but the cars are long gone.
I am still in the hunt for color pics... Those '94 Reedy race cars in particular. I think the bodies were painted white/yellow/blue.

Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread

Has anyone read the story about Jeff Haney's bmx vintage collection in the October issue of RIDEbmx? He's definitely hardcore. I recognized myself in everything he said and I know a few guys on this forum that just feel exactly the same. A great read. You can see a bit of it here. http://bmxmuseum.c...

Re: Masami GREEN????

Hi there, I can speak only for cars pre-'95. The metallic green on Masami's early bodies painted by Takatani is not a mixed color. Takatani used Engine Colour spray can to paint the metallic green. Engine Colour is a Japanese paint brand. I don't think it is available outside of Japan. Over the year...

Re: 1986 1/12 IFMAR World Champ

Thanks for posting this Chris, First scan, group picture, bottom right, it is Masami Hirosaka. His father Masaaki (light blue sweater) is standing behind him. I think it was Masami's first ever Worlds. He ended up in the B-main if my memory is correct. Back to first scan, top right picture, car #4, ...

Re: My first Yokomo - a YZ-10, 93 WCS poss ran at 93 Worlds

Reggie had found a pretty close color match using a combination of Rit Fushia and Tangerine Orange but never posted the exact ratio in the rctech forum :( I am sorry Dan and R-N0, I had run like 15-20 different ratio's that day to "dial in" the color, and had all the test rims and parts i...

Re: My first Yokomo - a YZ-10, 93 WCS poss ran at 93 Worlds

Its difficult to judge the true colour of the wheels on Masami's car as the wheel dots cover most of them up..... but they do look more pink in the photo of JD Beckworth's car & on the photos of a 93 WCS I recieved from CML... but in both these last photos the colours in the photo seem over-bri...

Re: Yatabe Arena 93 Japanese Nat's replica-

I am good on the tires actually !! I got very lucky with two different members having a set of front and tears for me. Is that a Sanwa esc? I was thinking it was a KO. It's cool if you got the yokomo tires (F350 front, R35 rear I think). Yes, the esc is a Sanwa Super Vortex 212HF. It was quite a po...
