I'm sure this has been asked a couple of times but would it be better to strip paint off the outside and inside or just do a 200g sand job and respray a light coat? It is an old Bolink Thunderbird body.

Anybody sucessfully strip polycarb paint from a body and have the new paint job turn out good? What did you use? I have a couple bodies that are in decent shape just with nasty paint schemes.

- Orange/Citric Acid Stripper (cannot remember the manufacturer) works, but will damage the plastic, almost like pulls a layer of the lexan away and leaves a raised surface (best way I can describe it)

All depends on type paint was used but easy off yellow can is best.Hopefully the body hasnt been painted multiple times if only painted once it should be a hour or two to remove it.Spray it let sit use rag an gloves an wipe loose paint off then...
If you can push a screwdriver through a rusty sheetmetal panel, you might be able to remove the rust with laser, but you'll still be able to push a screwdriver through it.
