New Works 91 in Oz

Post by FREAK »

Hey Guys,
I have been looking through the forum and seems to be some pretty knowledgeable people on here.
I have a never been used Works 91 that i purchased new as an apprentice and never got going, but just bought the kiddies some R/Cs and the bug is starting to bite.
I purchased the buggy with spare belts, spare wheels (pink and also a white set) and tyres, all radio equipment, Reedy's Mr A ultra series motor, spare bushes and a whole host of other goodies.
Basically what i am asking is, would it be worth selling and reinvesting in a new buggy or holding on to this and finishing ot off, as the works 91 seems to be fairly highly thought of on here.
Like i said, never run and driven, brand new with accessories, with all manuals Japanese and English.
Value?? who knows

i really like the buggy, but am torn between sitting and completing or a ready to run buggy.

What do you all think?

simple: get a new buggy if you want to run a lot.
If you can afford to da that without selling the yoky, all the better: keep it for later. Either to increase value or to build it when you feel certain about what YOU want.

Hi! (and merry Christmas!!).
I don't know about your financial balance.. but I would keep that beauty mostly on the shelf, to use it very rarely, in occasion of some "vintage races" as we do sometimes here in Italy.
Then I would invest (ok, it's not a real investment..) 100 to 200$ to buy a used car to run weekly (or daily if you have time..)
I would choose a popular one, for which is easy to find spares.
Don't forget to post a few pictures of the W91!
Bye

If I may offer you another way to look at this situation-
Yes you could buy this car, rebuild it and it could come up trumps. Sure you could sell it, make a couple of bucks but you'll miss the opportunity to enjoy this buggy out doing what it was designed for. Take it out for a run, clean it, service it and keep running it. Ive got plenty of cars I could keep on a shelf but what fun is that? We collect 'radio controlled buggies' not Tamiya static kits. LOL!

I have nitro vehicles and i prefer the when not at the track. cause when the fun begins i don't half to wait till the battery charges. Just fill and go till the gallons out.

Well, probably this is not the right topic to talk about this (let me check how the subject moved away from the original one..), but the comparison between:

gas (you have to cool down between tanks, and a tank lasts 10 minutes or less)
electric (brushless + lipo made the revolution: I typically run in a track my XXXT MF2 with ballistic Novak 5.5R power and a 5400 Trackpower lipo for almost 24 minutes; then wait 5 mins for cooldown, swap the pack and start again..)

..has not an easy answer.
My answer is ELECTRIC wins, with no doubts!
