How I spent my Saturday..............
This is how my wife and I spent our day today. Always got to go to the airshow no matter where I live. It was OK compared to other airshows I have been to, but not bad for Huntsville. A photog complaint... why do I always seem to end up on the wrong side of the sun at airshows. Color and pics would have been so much better if the sun was to our backs. Enjoy the pics!

Sweet pics. I saw the Thunderbirds a long time ago. It's incredible how they fly those formations. Talk about nerves of steel.

Awesome pics. I've been to two air shows. The second one had the Blue Angels, we saw them and thought it was great. Then, a B2 bomber did a fly over and it was great. And then, they had an A-10 Warthog demo and it made everything else seem like crap. Those things are the coolest thing in the air.

I was stationed at DMAFB in Tucson, it is an A10 base with a couple training squadrons and 2 combat groups. Those planes are awesome, and a nice thing about them when you live on base is that they are very quiet compared to other jets. Easy to sleep in on a saturday, not like in the winter when they let the "snowbirds" come in from Nebraska with their f-16's, those suckers can shake your filings out on takeoff!!

Re: How I spent my Saturday..............
I can hear something flying around out there right now. We are only about 3 miles east of the airport, so I expect to be running outside all day to see if I can see anything fly over the lake. I do know that during the Angels demo which starts at 3:00 they do a high speed pass, just under Mach 1, from the east and I am looking forward to seeing that again.

Hey Jay is that the same show that had a sudden thunderstorm and high winds? If so I just saw the aftermath on CNN. Sadly it ended in tragedy.

Re: How I spent my Saturday..............
Yep, that was it. There was a storm that came through at 2:00, they are calling it a micro-burst with gusts up to 47 mph. At the apartment, I noticed it did rain pretty hard for a few minutes and there after it was a bit windy, but I didn't think it was that bad. Anyways, there were a number of corporate tents, about 10 or so and about half of them blew over. 12 people were hurt and there was a local 5 year old that was killed. There are no details as to how the child was killed, I assume by a poll or something inside the tent. They really haven't said yet and they just released his name during the last promo for the local news. It is a real shame something like that happened.... we are going to watch the local news to see if they have any new info.

Cool pix Mr.L. The blue angels were up in my neck of the woods last weekend. Passed over the dealership where we were doing some paperwork...scared my 6 year old to jump when they did the high speed pass which went directly over us. First one I seen was a long time ago and it had the Thunderbirds and then a couple years later went to it again to see the Blue Angels...got completely sunburned and miserable but it still rocked. Sorry to hear about the bad news surrounding it in your neck of the woods.

Great pics, Jay.
First time I saw the Blue Angels I was 4 or 5. I remember the high speed pass ... came from behind the crowd and scared the heck out of me! Saw them many, many years later and couldn't wait for that pass!

The local news just said that that kid died from a generator that feel on top of him, that was toppled over from the wind. They said it took almost a dozen emergency workers to pull the generator off of him.
