Powdercoating VS. Anodizing

Post by klavy69 »

Wanting to do some runners up right but wanted to know what would hold up better...powdercoating or anodizing. What am I going to find more affordable? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

the powder coating is going to outlast the annodizing on the chassis but both will get messed up in the course of running.

i wouldn't powder coat shocks as the paint is thick.

IMO annodizing looks way better

How well does anodizing cover up scratches? Are there different thicknesses that can be built up to hide slight imperfections?

anodizing is paper thin... no thickness.. any imperfections and gashes will be visible.

powdercoating can be thick as hell

Is the dull red anodizing on the photo above an option when you get things anodized, or because the parts were sandblasted before going out for anodizing?

I had the guys at my work do the annodizing. bot of those parts were blacck annodized and they stripped them and then did the red. the etch bath leaves them dull so the annodizing is dull. If i would have taken them back and polished them, they could skip the etch tank and they would have had more shine.

They are probably not as good as the stockers. I slapped them on purely for the Blinga ding factor
