Airbrush assembly question

Post by Coelacanth »

Guys, I have a couple of these inexpensive airbrush sets, the ones that come with 0.2, 0.3 and 0.5mm tips & needles:

I have a question about proper reassembly. While cleaning out one of my airbrushes, the little valve, spring and retaining screw (more like a tiny thick washer with threads on the outside) fell out of the bottom of the airbrush (the vertical fixture in the picture). Reassembly was easy enough, but since the thing fell out, I was wondering how much I'm supposed to screw in that retaining screw? All the way until it snugs up at the bottom (or top, if you're looking at the picture)? Does this affect airflow from the air coming in through the hose there? Whether it's in snug or mostly out, either way the button to depress to shoot the air doesn't seem to be affected. Just wondering. Thanks.
