Hello All
My runner had the original links and they were worn and oh so sloppy.
I was at my LHS and found a Traxxas 2742X kit that has short links and balls for about 4 bucks. (Don't use these...see my next post)
I installed them on my 94 YZ10 on the front and rear. I feel that I am on the edge regarding the # of threads in the link but its definitely working. I am sure they will get the pipe check soon so if they stay on Ill call them good for now.
Ill probably get a set of long links just in case and cut them down if I need to make them medium length:)
Considering I have seen some try to sell a new set of links on the FLEE for 70 bucks I think getting the word out there on easy to get alternates is a good thing.

Re: Alternate Ball Link Set For YZ10
you mean that you don't have alot of thread coverage with your short ball ends?
would the long ball ends like the 5347 work?
and if they would work you could upgrade to RPM rod ends.
I also used to use duratrax rod ends similar to these just because I had picked them up from a defunct HobbytownUSA that went outta business not too far from me.
Of course the purists scoff but I'm not gonna shell out 70 bux for something like this on a runner
Thanx for sharing your find while I'm at it

Yes, with the links from the 2742 bag are too short so they may not be enough treads in them ...
For the sake of keeping the flow of the post I did not edit my original post to recommend a different parts bag.
I went to my LHS today and found an even better bag of rod ends.
Traxxas 1942 for 7 dollars. Comes with longer rod ends (16 of them) and balls (18) along with some other stuff you don't need.
The long links are a perfect fit; these are a very inexpensive and readily available solution for rod ends...for a runner. Purist look away:)
