Works 91 runner
Works 91 runner
Hello.
I am very lucky I own a works 91 in very good condition on my shelf.
Is it reasonable nowadays to run it on astroturf just for fun (no race) from time to time ?
I think to run it with lipo and a brushed motor 14T.
I know that this machine was very strong but will it brake on this grip surface ?

Hi eugine,
I would rather say mostly wear than break something
no doubt the diffs will wear faster
the rest of the transmission (dogbones, belt...) maybe too,
but i don't no how a 14t powered by lipo push/brake
be careful with the front arms and steering blocks, they're not so durable.

Actually it pushes much harder, too...
- Less weight to move around
- More voltage, both at low load and a lot lot more at high load!

Re: Works 91 runner
I did this question because I run a 6 gears with a 17T and an RC10T3 with a 5.5T (yes 5.5 LRP) without any issue.
My T3 is the local champion this year
For practice I have a B6.
But it will be fantastic if I can drive this Yokomo once a time in my life

Re: Works 91 runner
I say go for it and have fun. If it breaks, fix it. That's not the end of the world.
Re: Works 91 runner
Hi that's obvious if I break it I will fix it.
But I need to know if there are any parts that are very rare to find and with a big chance of breaking them.

Re: Works 91 runner
If you find and put a plastic/delrin front bulkhead then you can try to find Drescher front arms, they're bulletproof.
but you have to change c-hubs
at this point you can also upgrade to RPM or alu steering hubs

Re: Works 91 runner
What I meant was: this was a competition level car in its days. If you don't go crazy and drive halfway descent you shouldn't have to worry about breaking stuff.
