RC10T - Purple Modern Build

Post by Lavigna »

Here is the start of a modern take on the RC10T. I just had the chassis anodized. I did some rounding and sanding work to it prior to anodizing. I will be installing modern electronics, as well as new vintage upgrades. It will be a bit of a mash up of pieces, but I hope it turns out as nice as I have envisioned it. My plan is to build it as a high end runner, that will be too nice to run, lol.

That chassis is mint! Love how it's eye catching. Looking forward to watching this build.

Very nice chassis. I'm looking forward to the build.

Progress pictures. Getting close now. Sorry for the crappy pictures in bad lighting. I installed A&L steering with the CF cross. I dyed the yellow plastic black.

I build the shocks from new AE Kashima bodies, Ti shafts, and Jconcepts o-rings and finishing pieces. The shock towers and transmission brace are also Jconcepts pieces.

Looks great Adam. Just a heads up on the RPM arms- if you are on a high traction surface, they kill the handling. Seriously, they will flex, twist, deflect and then rebound in corners and you will chase a setup forever. The T2 type arms solve all of it though.

Good to know. I love the look of the RPM arms for this truck, but the flexing is a known issue. Thanks.

The RPM transmission is an upgrade from the stealth? I just went with a brushless setup on my rc10T and I'm concerned my tranny won't hold up to the bashing.

With the diff and slipper set correctly the original stealth will handle any 1/10 scale motor setup available. Parts for the RPM box are not available so they are not recommended any more.
