JC Racing RC10 wheels- *EDIT - they need diiferent bearings
So everyone said these would fit. Just got them in the mail..
The rears fit, but there is no way in the world the fronts fit. All my bearings are too big on the outside diameter. I thought these were a "direct fit" the the RC10.. I thought that was the whole point?
Seems the bearing needed would be very thin.
Or did they send me the wrong set? (I don't think so)
Even in the pic you can see the place to fit the bearing is too small. What is going on?
Regular RC10 CE with axles that cam with it. They use the 3/16" x 3/8" bearing on inside and outside of each wheel..
See there's no way that bearing will fit without heavy modification to wheel (what was trying to avoid)
These are what I ordered. I ordered the right wheels. And they came in pack of four, so I couldn't have gotten just wrong front wheels.
Compared to a wheel that is actually a "direct fit".. You can see the bearing will never fit onto the jcracing front wheel.
Any ideas? Hope I didn't waist $40 on these wheels.

You need the right bearings. Originally rc10's were a 3/16 x5/16 flanged bearing. You have a CE with 3/8 unflanged bearings

Thanks for quick reply!gomachv wrote:You need the right bearings. Originally rc10's were a 3/16 x5/16 flanged bearing. You have a CE with 3/8 unflanged bearings
3/16 x 5/16 flanged? Hmm..
So if I get those, they won't end up being too wide for axle? Oh well.. good news is at least I can get them to work.
Do you know the width of those 3/15 x5/16 flanged bearings by any chance? ...or is it just the regular bearings used by the original rc10?

Is JC racing the original manufacturer of these? They sure look like the old CRP wheels that I threw away, a box full of em.
I was old school - when old school wasn't cool !

Yes, JC are the manufacturer of these, and can still make them, these aren't old stock. Recently they developed and started producing new dish wheels for the early CATs.

I'm just relieved I can use them still! Ordering bearings now...
I wonder if these are Nylon or just plastic? They seem to be really nice and good quality in person.

I was really happy with them BWX. I have put them on a half dozen cars so far including my daughter's build, I'm going to dye them pink for her.
Re: JC Racing RC10 wheels- *EDIT - they need diiferent beari
Yeah now that I have seen them in person, I like them more.. They seem to be high quality and look really good on the car. I wish that they also offered a plain dish wheel exactly the same size, and maybe a little bit wider front wheel also - in both styles. But still, they are good just like they are. I hope they keep making them for years.
I got my flanged bearings in the mail finally and they work perfect.

I have several sets of these wheels. They have held up exceptionally well - even through multiple acetone baths.
