I bought this car new the first year it was introduced. Had fun with it bashing and even got some racing in with it. When my son reached 12 he took an interest in RC cars and wanted this one, Seeing an excuse to buy an improved new one I thought hell why not. Besides at that time I was teaching a Saturday morning course at the local High School on Radio Control... Perfect opportunity didn't even need an excuse for the wife. After about 3 years of bashing, bending and breaking my son decided he'd had enough of the car girls looked a whole lot better.
So I ended up getting the car back, and it sat in a box until now.
After taking everything apart, getting rid of the bent pieces and the worn arms, mounts and axle blocks. Scrubbing the rest of the nylon and rebuilding the tranny I ordered some rere parts from Towers Hobbies. I was really waiting for these parts to come on the market thank goodness for re-releases. I then got out my Royal Blue Rit dye and dyed all of the new parts.
As I already have a Championship Edition in almost mint condition from my teaching days I decided to try and use my McAllister lowering kit from the same era, I even had a set of slicks for the RC10 from the 80's. I also decided to throw in a 17.5 turn brushless Turnigy Motor HK ESC and a shorty 2 cell hardpack. Now I just have to find the right body for this...
I think I'm ready to embark on this adventure called RC10 rebuilding...I have collected most of what I think I'll need to get started on the rebuild of a gold A stamp Cadillac RC10 (suggestions or suggested changes always welcome!!)....

The shock ends on the re-re look different. Ugly even. Yes, eBay is your friend. Easy to find with used shocks, not too hard to find new in bag but expensive.
Well I picked up another one...LOL. Im going to try and build this one with my kids. Its an A stamp that was painted and has some worlds parts on it? I have an exact plan for this one in mind. It will be a car, but not buggy body. All the parts will...

I think coat hanger wire is a little too thick and it doesn't flex very well. I use .062 music wire; it's available from K&S (item number 504 I think). And, of course, there's the official wing mount set from AE.
I picked up what I thought was a CE to build a runner.Turned out it was a drilled out A stamp with Hot Tricks Steering and an Andy's bumper.
Since the bottom is so scratched I decided to strip it down bare aluminum and polish it....

As most of you know, Rod had a house fire that destroyed a lot of his stuff a while back. Moving forward, his basement is looking better than ever, but still a lot to be done RC wise. One thing on his to do list is to restore his Edinger RC10, so we...
Ok, Reggie has threatened to kick me off the board if I don't attempt a build thread. So I guess I better stop buying and start building
These were the missing link
Picked this up yesterday. I was actually looking for a tub car when I ran across this on Craigslist. I thought that it deserved to be rescued by someone who actually knew what it was and had some appreciation for it. Much to my suprise its actually...

Well I had finally gotten this thing back together and then I kinda lost interest. Too many other R/C projects going on I guess. Anyway here are some pics of it together. I'm gonna go ahead and post it up in the classifieds and hopefully find a good...
It has been a very long time since I last posted here. This week I picked up an RC10 off fleabay. I know some of things about it, 6 gear trans, A stamp from the top and, it has some of the MSC parts still with it. However, the front end plate is not...

Since i cant really do anything else, ive been working on the Tranny design. Still gotta mess with gear mesh and clearances a bit, but for a first print, i think it was really darn close.
I'll modify this Diff so it is sealed, and then I'll...
