My eBay RC10T2 - score!

Post by uniquenamehere »

I picked up this RC10T2 from eBay, because I've been kicking around the idea of building a "B1.5" buggy out of the chassis. When I got it, I was surprised just how good it is.. there's no signs of usage other than being a little dirty. Looks like whoever owned it hardly used it. Appears to have full bearings, transmission spins freely, diff feels good. The wheels are in mint shape, only some cracking on the front tires. No scratches on any of it, not even the suspension arms or bumper. Kinda makes up for the butt hurt felt from eBay's global shipping option...

Now I'm starting to wonder what I should do with it... one thing is for sure, the Aristo-craft receiver/speed controller will not be re-used. :)

Anyway, here's some pics:

Nice score! 8)

I almost scored a nip t2 chassis cheap the other day, but someone, probably from here, beat me to it by a couple seconds. Doh! :x

I did get the gt pan he had though. 8)

Wow that will clean up nice! I built a 1.5 out of a T2 and if I were to do it again I would cut down the chassis. I would not cut that one, its far too minty! Stock length is pretty long for a buggy.

This is as far as I have got on my T2

Oh, and yes- that was me that got the chassis. I didn't have a direction for most of these parts until I found that.

Sweet collection of parts. I am kicking around the idea of just cleaning it up. Where did you get that body? Does any one sell repos?

I was lucky and found it in a hobby store a few months back. I just grabbed it to go with the decal sheet I have but now it will actually get used

Cool man, I'm glad it went to a very good home. 8)

It worked out good for me too. Right after I posted that Mr. Romulus22 posted a new built in the bst. It will be going to a good home, too.

That is one minty looking T2. Built, and put on display. Great stuff for collectors. Did you get a box, or any paper work, body, etc..?

No box or manuals or anything came with it. Just the chassis as shown, and no body either. Too bad, because i bet it would have been clean as well!

As for shipping... i got burned by eBay's global shipping, it was $25 USD to ship, plus another $19 for "import charges"

The T2 body is still available, only through Associated though. I just bought 5 only a few months ago.

That Global shipping thing seems to more common now, I'm not a fan, and I do believe I've seen the first signs of repackaging, luckily no damage yet. Most of everything I buy, never needed any type of customs, but E-bay seems to think a $10.00 part ( through GS ) warrants the extra fee's. In some cases a $10 part, with $8 shipping + another fee for GS, usually another $10, so in the end I end up paying $30 + .

I would keep it as a T2 and run it as such. The short wheelbase works nicely on clay.

I had an xstar back in the day, I may even still have it without a label somewhere. If memory serves it was more rpm based then torquey. I remember swapping the bushings for bearings and using it as a cheater motor in a etc and pan car.
