My ebay score

Post by KvilleKrawler »

Woo Hoo, I just won this off ebay. Can't wait to get working on it. Going to switch it over to modern wheels and tires.

Were can I get the brace plate that runs between the transmission and the rear bulkhead? I will also probably look for some of the narrow front suspension arms for it if I can find some in good non yellowed shape.

Thank you

I thought some of the other bidders would be members of the site.

I will update once I get it and get started on it.

I hope it's in as good a shape as the pictures make it look to be.

Just got an email from the USPS that my protech body should be at my doorstep.

Now I am trying to decide if a go for an old school 80's\90's paint job or bring the body up to date. I am leaning towards old school to keep it in date with the chassis time period.

Aggghhh... Had an issue with painting the body. I got a new pro tech body, washed it with mild detergent. Taped up the windows and laid out my strips. Started painting and noticed that on every rolled edge (like where the sides go up and roll into the top of the hood, roof, side pods, etc) the paint was being bubbled away from sticking to the body... First time I have ever seen this occur. I can post up pictures tonight of it, but I am going to have to try to remove all of the paint now and start over. I am just wondering what could have caused it.

That looks like a nice early CE to me are you sure you want to swap those original front arms out :?: :|

Oh, I am new to the RC-10. I thought those wide arms might not be original. If they are I will def keep them on it then. Thanks for pointing that out for me.

To me it definitely looks like an early CE (although the front shock tower might not be correct), hopefully someone else will chip in to confirm, if it is and you want to continue the originality I think you would need to fit a Protech 2 body.

To add, that looks like a super clean A chassis, if it's unscratched I wouldn't be running it, if you want to build a runner swap the chassis out for a more beat up one, in fact the whole car looks like a great base for a shelf queen 8)

Once I get it I can post up some better pictures. Is the protech 2 body different than the one that Tower Hobby sells?

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2697&P=ML

If so, where can I get a protech2 body from?

This will end up being a shelf queen.

My brother-in-law just told me this weekend that I can just keep his car (my avatar). I will use it as a runner since it is scratched up and the parts are yellowed.

That's a Protech 1 from the original short armed RC10, if you have a look at this link there are some pictures and more info., the protech 2 is no longer produced :(

Hold off buying anything until someone can positively identify the RC10 you have, I'm not even 75% sure.
