Making use of the airbrush..
Making use of the airbrush..
I purchased an air brush some ten years ago for the Testors acrylic model paints. I think I may have used it once since I bought it until the last few months. So far I have painted at least two RC10 bodies and one Stampede body with Parm FastColor paints though this gun. It's just a cheap Testors Aztek but I am liking the lack of odor and friendly clean up. So here are a few of the RC10 bodies I have done with the standard spray tip:
I'm praticing up to do the body for my RPM/Compsite Craft worlds build.
If you have looked at my gallery page you might recognize that the blue and black body is the inverse of the black and blue body I did a little while back, working on the sister car with a blue chassis. It will be in my gallery in a few weeks. The seperating decals are XXX Main tribal thorns applied inside the body and used as the color seperation. It makes masking easy and looks alright

Re: Making use of the airbrush..
Go to Dollar General and buy some liters of cola, seriously. Can cut the bottles in half length wise and practice on that instead of bodies. I've been saying I'd get an airbrush one of these days so what do I know?

A couple more I did recently from simple to more complex
My son's car:
A car to be sold soon:
Another car to be sold soon:
5 Colors used, charcoal up front then neon yellow, to metallic Key Lime to neon green, all backed with white. My best attempt to date. I really would like to keep it but I think there's more up my sleeve yet, I'm still learning!

Re: Making use of the airbrush..
Just started painting bodies with my airbrush. Using faskolor paints. Seems like I use 3/4 of a bottle for a sc body, but its real thin. What do you use to back the paint with. Nice work by the way.

Great work. Question - what do you use to thin the paint? Water or faskolor thinner? What ratio? Is your brush a single or dual action?
