Need help figuring out small differences in 2 early Ultima's

I picked up 2 Ultima's in a lot a while back and I have have just about finished getting the first one into running shape (little bugger flies!). When I first went over them I thought they were both Ultima 1's but since I have finished the first cars I see a few small differences. They are very small differences so maybe it was just changes between production runs but I would appreciate any help you can offer as these are my first Ultima's.

OK on to pictures - The first difference is the metal wing on the red car. Is it simply just an aftermarket part?

The second difference is the chassis deck. The car that still has the manual speed controller has little tabs that hold it down. The holes in the deck are also shaped differently in the speed control area. It is difficult to see because I have not removed the electronics from the car yet but I tried to get a good pic of the area.

Lastly the unrestored car is sporting a Mabuchi silver can motor. It has a black endbell with a Mabuchi Stamp on one side and 6T stamped on the other. Any idea where this motor came from?

Those things look like running production differences to me, but I'm no expert. Only two Ultimas came with that aluminum chassis, and really just one. The Turbo Ultima had the same looking chassis, but it was slightly thicker and hard anodized a kind of bronze-ish color. However, the Turbo had the lexan only body, no cage... therefore I tend to think that those are both originals. I'm kind of jealous of you having TWO cage Ultimas though...

EDIT: That wing is aftermarket I believe.. Maybe a dirt burners (thorp)?

Losixxxman, thanks for the help. I had been looking up Ultima history and had only seen the original Ultima with the aluminum chassis and cage body but I wasnt sure if I was missing something. I wish my wife thought having 2 of them was cool But she has laid claim to the runner and wants the blue body on it. This all start when I dug my old jrxt out of the closet. I started out just to get it running again and went to the lhs. He ended up selling me a blackfoot kit and now 4 months later (with the help of craigslist and ebay) I have 10 projects... Im running out of places to hid em lol

Congrats on the Ultimas. I´ve never seen a Kyosho alloy wing so I think it´s a third party/aftermarket part.
The difference in the topdeck is caused by hand, to my knowledge, Kyosho hasn´t made a topdeck like that.
