A few differences I noticed on my early rc10 (edinger)

I always wondered why there was a wheel base option on rc10s but the nose plate only had the one set of holes taped for use. Then to my surprise I noticed that my early edition which I am rebuilding had them tapped ready to go. There really is quite a lot of differences on the earlier cars. Also noticed that the shocks have an alloy spacer in there instead of the thicker plastic one too back to the nose but I wonder when they stopped tapping them.... Anyone?

Going to be hard to tell I think because I have very early no-stamp Edingers that are tapped, and also have Cadillacs as well as very late Stealth Transmission dated gold noseplates that are threaded as well. In fact, all of mine are threaded for both positions.

Well that is odd i have 3 gold rc10s and only the earliest one is threaded?

Could it have something to do with roar rules or something like that? The long wheelbase setup would've been longer than allowed so they stopped tapping the holes to eliminate the option?

Edinger to Caddy kits. Seems like if you purchased a RC10 during the change over you get what they in stock at the time.

Yeh maybe would have been a beast in long wheelbase mode especially with those kit fronts and slow servos back in the day maybe it was the 1/4 mile setup certainly wouldn't have liked hairpins, i remember seeing a pic of the early cars in england and i seemed quite popular to shorten the car by about 1cm and put spikes on the front for grass tracks.

I myself have 17 gold noseplates, stemming from the early no-stamp edinger RC10 ones, to late edinger, late cadillacs and even brand new in the bag ones that I got from AE as a Team Driver just after they released the B2, and all of mine are threaded for both positions. I forgot to include 3 of my RC10CE's that came with the stealth also are threaded in both positions.

Note that the stock front tubes only had 1 position, which leads to think that the longer wheelbase has never been a real alternative. I honestly think that we have spotted all the differences between the early "Edinger" kits and the later models.

I've had about 10 or 12 and none have ever had both sets threaded. In fact, that is how I always knew which hole to put it in. (the screws... Get your mind out of the gutter)

I have 9 and 2 are threaded. No rime or reason either. One is on an all original short arm car and the other is on an original Team Car. Maby if they were behind on production they skipped this step.

I know this is an old post, but I’m new on the forum. I’ll have to check that as I have an early no-stamp and just recently restored a CE. Hmmm.
