Kyosho Shocks
Has anyone found a viable solution to the cracked shock collars on the early Ultima red shocks?
I've restored and own a Turbo Ultima,a Triumph,a Turbo Mid SE & a Turbo Mid SP,but they all have gold & platinum shocks...A rather sad little 1st gen Ultima followed me home,a few weeks ago and, just as I suspected, all 4 shock collars are cracked right through.
I have a set of Kyosho gold shocks I could fit,but I'm a stickler for correctness, especially with my Kyoshos.
I saw some red Bolink shocks on eBay,I think they are old rear pan car shocks.
Anyone know if they'd fit?
Kinda be a last resort, for me,like I said,I like things to be correct.
Check out the choice chassis crack!
Lucky I have a mint chassis stashed.
Here's the sad little Ultima...

Re: Kyosho Shocks
I think that these should also fit (there is no direct link): http://www.teamcrp.com/ -> "Kyosho" -> "8mm SHOCK COLLARS - Ultuma - CRP 9126 8mm SHOCK COLLARS - Ultuma - CRP 9126". Those are also available with springs.
Jirka
EDIT: I think that those CPR shock collars do not fit after all. Those are for older 8mm red Kyosho shocks and Ultima's has 10mm red shocks if I remember correctly.

Re: Kyosho Shocks
Wow. Hope you don't find other problems, because that, combined with the home-made top deck and the break in the body, looks like someone folded up his Ultima big time after hitting something really hard. L-shape big time.FasterLouder wrote:Has anyone found a viable solution to the cracked shock collars on the early Ultima red shocks?

Re: Kyosho Shocks
If you're gonna drive it, lose the red shocks, they're crap. I don't think correctness really matters when you're talking about a runner; it's only for shelf-queens. When you're driving, performance matters.
And like EvoRevo stated, that car is one curb-hit away from looking like a hockey stick.

Re: Kyosho Shocks
yup....Raider shock collars and cups are the best replacement. Different plastic material that doesn't crack or fade. The ones off of the gallop work also.
