GP-10 Citroen ZX, hopped up

Very dusty car cleaned up, seems fairly unrun, and since I don't run nitro cars it will be converted to electric. The body was dressed up using the original sticker sheet remains that were included.

This is from the same generation of GP-10 cars as the Ford RS-200 and Peugeot 405. 4WD drive with an offset main shaft that is connected to the front and rear gearboxes using two belts, three gear diffs, and Optima suspension arms. AFAIK the tires included with this car were only used on the Citroen ZX.

I actually started this project with a bunch of cool options that were included in a parts lot, and the complete car came later. :P

Onto the chassis pics:

Upgrades installed:
- Kyosho Equalizer shocks front and rear, with Kose off-road springs meant for Tamiya Hi-Cap dampers.
- Kyosho universals front and rear.
- Full ball bearings from Avid.
- Cross hardened diff gear.
- Cross GP-10 sway bar set with Associated ballcups replacing the original so-soft-installing-them-cracks-them ballcups.
- Cross carbon fiber reinforcement tube.
- Central RC carbon fiber front and rear shock mounts.
- Central RC upgraded CF brake disc.
- Fivestars alloy/carbon main drive shaft with front one-way.

Getting the Cross sway bar set, Central RC CF front shock mount and Equalizer shocks to play nicely together required some unorthodox assembly, which is why the front shocks are attached the way they are and the front camber links are attached to the gearbox and not the shock tower.

My most recent acquisition for this car:
upgrade-time.jpg
Tons and tons of aftermarket and Kyosho parts for slightly less  than what one of those hardened diff gears goes for on Ebay. Best. Buy. Ever. If my professional life only was this easy....

Ironically, it didn't include the one alloy upgrade that I thought I had spotted in the pictures (steering parts).

Outfitted the GP-10 with some choice bits: Alloy center diff mounts, uprights, front main axle mount, light-weight diff outdrives and universals, a hardened front diff and accompanying gears, and turnbuckles:

Looking forward to see this come together while my own build is stalled by lack of time.

The red alloy center mounts are from a manufacturer called Racing Jack, and I managed to get almost all of their other parts (except pulleys). Also found a FRP top deck (HPI I think) and some gold alloy C-hubs by Cross.

(not shown are the alloy arms and motor mounts, see pics below)

I'm not entirely sure whether I'm actually going to convert this to brushless, since one of the donor chassis I used also came with the upgraded engine. Might make it a shelf queen instead.

Nice, I love the red aluminum arms & bellcrank, and of course you already know I like the gold front C-hubs & rear outdrives. 8)

Cross made all kinds of lovely gold parts for Kyosho cars, but the gold is fairly dark in general (darker than Kyosho's own gold anodizing). They had front uprights, c-hubs, rear uprights, steering bellcranks and wishbones (mostly for the Kyosho TF Spider series). There's also a set of gold alloy arms for the GP-10, which of course fit the Optima. I've seen one used set until now. :(

I've kept my eyes peeled but never found anything except a set of gold kingpins....those were Trinity, though, if I remember correctly.
