Worth upgrading Raiders servo and receiver

Post by isitafox »

Just wondering if upgrading the servo and receiver in my old Raider would make any difference and if so in what way?

For the servo, it depends on what you have in it already. Is the servo you have now fast enough for you? Speed and torque are what can be improved with a new servo, but for a raider, you wouldnt need a lot of torque.

A faster servo is good in a raider. They don't have the tightest turning radius but a faster servo will help it cut in a little bit better

I was looking at mine the other day and I think it would be fairly easy to put in some bellcranks on one of these.

I've been thinking of figuring out a way to install bellcranks. I want to build a full racer out of my extra raider. I think bellcranks could be done with a little time.

Not only that but parts from the Rocky should also fit like the (pot metal?) gearbox cover and I imagine the rear aluminum shock tower as well. I also remember reading something about Ultima Pro A-arms fitting but don't hold me to it.

I think the Ultima rear arms fit, but the Raider front arms are swept back more like an rc10's are. Do the Ultima Pro arms do that as well?

I know Sierra parts interchange, but I wasn't aware of the rocky parts interchanging. I'll definitely be looking into that.
