6 Gear Transmission Diff Spring Replacement?

I recently acquired a parts lot from a local guy here so I'm building another old school rc10

At the moment, I'm working on the transmission and the only part it's missing is the diff spring DOH! I know it should be a 6628, but I can't seem to find one to buy. IS there an alternative to the original part like maybe a stealth slipper spring 6587 that will work? Besides the chassis, this is the only thing holding me back from completion

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I bought the newer B3 slipper spring and it seems to be ok, I haven't tested it yet though I'm short a chassis at the moment for the gold pan #2 build

This is my fist XX and I still a newbie but when I opened the transmission I found myself wondering if the center diff gear was supposed to be 2 pieces... That being said I am trying to locate another one for the 2.19 transmission. Is the LOSA3074...

I've replaced all bushings in the transmission with bearings and the old thrust is left. Is there a particular sealed bearing I can upgrade to?
I'm refering to the black bearing in my photo.

Ahh yes, that 1. Mine was stuck on pretty good too. I used a long socket and gently tapped it loose.

Thanks, good to know it is possible to get it off. Performing surgery in a bit....

Does anyone know of any superseded diff gear for a Losi LXT XX retrofit trans 2.61? I saw maybe one on ebay for $50+ and would like to know if any later model diff gears would work.

The diff outdrives are also wore out so I'm looking for...

Hey guys. Took apart the transmission of my 10t to clean it up, assess the condition, and throw in some new bearings... in the process, I noticed my diff thrust spring (that goes in the drive shaft) is missing. I have one on order, but I’m wondering...

No, not the same.

It was probably a good idea to replace the thrust spring anyways. If they loose tension, it can cause the diff to run loose and damage it.

If you are rebuilding a stealth transmission and can’t find the diff spring, you didn’t lose it.

It’s still in the out drive .

Is there some trick to get the diff gear off the diff tube. I have a bushing in there I'd like to replace with a bearing, but I can't seem to get the thing apart. Anyone have suggestions?

get a big pair of wire cutters, the cutting jaws are angled, so you put the jaws open end facing the gear and a little squeeze and the gear pops right off. I know this is an old thread. But still a good tip.
