Awesome. I love the Mini Z's - great for training. I use them in my double garage to keep the skills up to scratch when I am not getting to the track enough.

I love mini - z too. as you dont need bigger place to practice/play. And it will double the fun if this kit can jump

That does look pretty cool.

I don't know if Kyosho will ever re-release any of their vintage models unless there's a huge outpouring. The reason I say that is it wouldn't be cost effective as they've stated in the past that they no longer have the old molds.

That is sweet! This thread made me look at some Mini Z prices and all I can say is wow! $50+ for a body set, $20+ for a motor, $30+ for a ball diff!? And the aluminum upgrades cost more than 1/10 scale stuff.

You want it to retain the chain drive, or you'd buy it if it didn't cost $500 *or* retained the chain drive?

I guess if it was a true re-re, it'd have to have the chain. I'd prefer it with the belt, myself. Maybe they could re-re the belt conversion kit, too.

Speaking to the $500, I seem to recall the Turbo Optima kit--with radio, charger, battery--sold for $499 (at least here in Canada). So, if they ever DID re-re one, I wouldn't expect it to be cheap, because they weren't cheap then, either.

Kyosho competition kits aren't cheap these days either, 500 bucks is normal.

My friend Barry found a new in box Optima Mid at an estate sale a few years ago. Cost? $25!!! He also got a still plastic wrap sealed in box Edinger RC10 for $25 too!

I wouldn't pay $500 for a re-re. It was a bit of sarcasm but under $300 would be my limit. I'd like it to have the chain drive. I know the belt was better but I remember the car for it's chain.

Having previously released some teaser shots of their new Mini-Z Optima buggy last month, Kyosho have today released full information on these palm sized buggies as well as introduced a Lazer ZX-5 FS version. Both cars are shaft driven mid motored 4wds and sport independent double wishbone suspension, 4 oil filled shocks, 2 gear diffs and a slipper clutch with the chassis having a 10 degree kick up on the front. A standard Mini-Z motor powers the buggy and the ESC can be adjusted by connecting it to a PC. The car also sports a chassis mounted gyro to make the car easier to drive by helping to correct the steering and throttle. It also comes with the awesome Tiki Tiki mode that allows a preset amount of full power boosts for great battles with your friends. The new Mini-Z buggies will be released in November of this year with or without transmitter.
