Associated 2.4 XP-33 SS radio receiver issues

Post by j4roe »

I just bought a brand new Associated 2.4 XP-33 SS radio and receiver, installed it today and have some issues. Does anyone know why when Im turning the steering servo the Throttle servo is turning too? Its like there is interference between channel 1 and channel 2. I dont know what to do, I tried playing around with it today but nothing worked. The steering is making the throttle open up, not good on a NITRO!!!!!!!!!!! NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!

Are you using chan.1 and chan.2 on the rx? Sounds like you have both plugged into chan.1 and chan.1...thats if I am remembering right that the receiver has 2 slots for chan.1 then chan.2. If not I'm sure someone else has something to add to help out.

Is channel mixing on? I just bought a transmitter that will mix channels - haven't played with it but I think it means that you can set the trig or wheel to control both throttle and steering. This for planes I think:

"Channel mixing occurs when two separate channels are made to operate in conjunction with one another. For example, you could program an aileron and rudder mix whereby the rudder automatically moves a set amount when the ailerons are deflected."

Have no idea if that is a setting on the XP-33 since not familiar with it...

Edit: Nevermind just checked the manual (if it is an XP3-SS) - doesn't appear to have that feature.

Yeah, my memory isn't the best  . There isn't 2 #1 channels on yours but just the 1,2,3,battery slot on your rx. If you have your steering in 1, throttle in 2 and your battery connected to the 4th slot and its doing this I would call Associated and talk to them to see if this has been an issue and see what you can do about it. Even if it isn't a warranty issue they can pry fix it at a moderate charge. Good luck

Well... good news, its not my receiver apparently. I had an old airtronics servo that I decided to hook up for craps and giggles and it doesnt have the interference that the other servo had issues with. Im thinking that the futaba servo that I was having the interference issue with has bad wiring or something. Thats the only thing I can think of. So the issue is resolved, Im glad I tried that other servo before sending the receiver away for work... What do you think the problem might have been?

Do airtronics and futaba still have different wiring configurations like back in the day?

If so, isn't AE electronics airtronics based?

Not that any of this should matter in todays day and age, but I am just trying to help troubleshoot.

man i hope it was not the one i sold on ebay...

Are you plugging it in correctly? I know some people will cut the small tab off the servo plug allowing it to go in either way.
