RC10 running at The RC Asylum in Florida

Here's a video of my newest RC10 running at the world's largest indoor off road rc track in Waverly, Florida. This was at the end of the day after logging a full day of testing so the driving isn't the best. Enjoy.....

Looks like great driving to me! Surface looks very smooth, what tires were you running?

What can you tell us about the track besides it being HUGE! How long is that back straight? And how many cars turn out for races?

That is pretty Nice lane sizes too- the track I am running here is large, but...they are packing a lot into the large area so the lanes in most places are really really tight ( 6 ft wide in many ) which make passing a make or break thing. That place looks really smooth and flowing

The car has JConcepts double dees in the rear and JConcepts barcodes up front. I tried JConcepts groovys up front and had too much steering. The barcodes calmed it down some but it still drives like a touring car.

The track is 125x75 and has a 4' wide pit lane for the nitro guys. The design is courtesy of Paul Wynn from JConcepts and was done with 1/10 and 1/8 in mind. The track flows great and is the perfect multi scale layout.

The building is an old citrus packing plant. It was build in 1938 and looks creepy, but super cool! There's enough room for another off road track downstairs and 2 carpet tracks upstairs. All while still having enough pit room to host national events on every track at the same time! The drivers stand is actually the second floor balcony and the size of the place makes the 1/10 cars get a little small at the far points of the track. I've raced at countless tracks over the years, both indoor and outdoor and this place is by far the coolest. ROAR electric off road nationals 2012???

jeff, how close to the orlando area are the tracks you normally go to? i'm gonna be heading down there in april 2012 for my cousin's wedding (i know, long time away yet), but it'd be cool to meet up while i'm there.

Most of the tracks are between 1 and 2 hours. It's almost all interstate driving so it's not too bad.

For the 2012 Nats, how about a ramp/jump like the LA coliseum peristyle jump? It looks like you would have plenty of room.

You're being hard on yourself re the driving... most people I know can't drive than clean a line for that long.

Additionnally, this is one of the first "proper" videos of an RC10 running on a modern track, detailed enough to see how (not much) differently it handles from a "modern" car... jumping abilities seem not as natural (seem to jump nose up), it also doesn't square as nicely out of hairpins as a modern ride I'd say, other than that, driven cleanly, it can probably run faster laps than 95% of the field

I thought the jumping attitude looked really good! The times that it was jumping nose up it appeared to be due to throttle input and not the balance of the car but I could be wrong.

I hear a lot of people talking about their cars "squaring up"... what is that referring to?

Squaring up is reference to a controlled rear end rotation, and it's relation to the corner exit.

The cameraman was pretty awesome for being the 1st time he has done this, able to follow fast and agile moving RC10's in a single frame shoot!

Jeff's car is awesome and it can easily hold its' own with B4's on that track.
