RC10T restoration project.
i picked this up a while back on another board for $50 shipped. figured it would be a good project to build my wife a truck to race.
here is the before pic. this was taken the day it arrived.
now if you have watched my other build threads you will know i like to have my chassis powder coated. so far we have 2 orange, 1 pink, and 1 candy blue met. so what color would we do this chassis? i had no clue. so i decided to gather up some of the parts i wanted to put on it. turns out most of them were black. so them it hit me.
cow truck = black chassis and white parts. but the new parts i was gathering up were black. so why not do the chassis in white. sort of a flip on the cow theme.
and now to put it all together. ok well partly together. i still have some parts to scrub down before i install them plus i have a few things i still need to get.

Re: RC10T restoration project.
Nice work on the spots. It’s harder than people think to make random looking cow spots. A lot of them end up looking the same, or in a pattern. Great idea. I’d say “Wish I’d thought of that!”, but if I had it would never make it past the planning stage anyway…
Look forward to seeing it complete!

That radio (with the slick rubber grip wheel) is the same model I used my early, formative years in R/C...brings back memories!

Wow, Looks good. I don't think I've ever seen a white Powdered chassis (wheels turning)
Is the Moo theme going to continue on to the body?

Re: RC10T restoration project.
thanks for all the comments guys. as for the body yes it will also get a cow style theme. after painting my cow buggy http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=12686 my wife decided she really liked it and wanted her truck like that. i'm currently waiting for a new needle to come in for my airbrush to replace the bend one that's in it now. (butterfingers "me" dropped it while cleaning the head.) also some more paint is on the way.

Re: RC10T restoration project.
That chassis looks amazing... giving me lots of ideas. Did you just mask the spots to expose the black anodize? Or layer the powder?

Re: RC10T restoration project.
the chassis is powder coated white. the black spots are sign vinyl and then there is a clear layer of chassis tape on the inside and out to add a bit of extra protection since it will be ran.

Re: RC10T restoration project.
yes it is a t2 body. i was hoping my airbrush parts and paint would show up today so i could paint it tomorrow. well as my luck would have it they didn't so it will be sometime next week before i can get it painted. well i guess that gives me time to get the rest of the truck put together.
