Post by bdrmbully »

well i had a gold celebration chassis car built to run but dismantled it to put the TBG chassis set on her. it all went together good except for the rear shock mount and long screw n bolt he provides for the motor plates...

This is very cool. You might have to take some picture on the sun light because I don’t think these pics do it justice.

So what did you do with the gold?
Do you think it is lighter?
:D

I really like these C/F mods to the Optima and the Ultima that I have seen from TBG. I wish there were some aftermarket rails too. This would lighten 'old porky' up a bit.

The original Optima was my first 1/10th scale buggy and I loved that thing to death (literaly). I raced it into the ground and by the time i traded up to an XLS CAT it was well worn out!

I have a new built 'stocker' and an all out vintage racer with just about every option house part fitted. Its a hoot to drive and even still races pretty darn well and certainly looks the bit going around the race track. I'd like to lighten it up and even work on ways to reduce the amount of turn in the car has on the slippery stuff. Maybe I need the C/F set and push the battery further rearward?? Hmmm.

-wish I had those 'ANSWER' rails now.

I have a pair of those "Answer" rails - in a project box somewhere - remember paying a silly price for them - but like most of us I "just had to have them" for another of my Optima projects.

Some of this carbon stuff looks really very nice.

Cheers
