JPAE07s Team Car Rebuild

Picked this car up a few weeks ago off eBay. The overall condition looked promising. When I received the car it was 100% intact and in good shape. The car was covered in leaking shock oil, dust, and rust. The tires were unused but marred with old CA glue and looked like they were in the beginning stage of dry rot.

Originally, I thought of replacing all the hardware but decided to clean the current hardware up instead. The only replacements were a new shock rebuild kit and a few missing screws from the original build. I think the results came out well. Especially the tires.

I also want to add...While doing the rebuild I noticed a few things that identified that the car was one of the first Team Cars out.
- "B" code Chassis has the six gear mounting holes countersunk - later versions weren't
- Nose plate is squared where it meets the chassis.
- The stealth came with the infamous slipper thrust bearing (brass ring w/ diff balls).
- The rear bulkhead is the old style with the ball end ears.

Copycat , very sharp--makes me itchy to start mine, just a few more parts....... and in talking about the Team car, I've been told that all of them came with that nose (not the C stamp type) and they all had B stamp chassis--but haven't really had clarification................Templepedia!

The car has obviously almost never been run, really nice resto. It was only when the Team Car went out that I finally had the money to buy my first RC10. Unfortunately, I had to sell it when I discovered that girls and beers were funny too... I still regret it a bit, but since then I was able to build up a decent RC10 fleet... keep up the good work mate!

Nope they are AE and stock for this car (ref 6822, cut down spikes)

I wish I did. I didn't even think about it because I thought there was no way the parts would become less yellow, hardware would have less rust, and the tires less dry rotted. I wasn't till I was deep into cleaning that I realized things were coming out nicely that I decided to share the results. Oh well.

I am at least glad I have pictures of it since its now nicely wrapped in a bag within in a box in storage.
