Green springs in the Factory Team spring kits are different

Post by SteveK »

So I picked up the Factory Team truck front and truck/buggy rear spring kits today, and I was fiddling with them and noticed the green front springs looked funny. I counted and it turns out one has more coils than the other. The other 4 sets of front springs match up OK. I popped open the rear spring set, and it turns out that the pair of green springs in that set are different as well, though not as much as the pair in the front set. They measure out the same, and 'feel' OK, I haven't put a load on the to see if they compress the same distance.

I'm finding out the same thing around me. The new spring rates are different than the old spring rates in different colors...if that makes sense in my sentence. It might be a thundertiger thing or something like that. Maybe they had different spring rates in different colors and now are stuffing their parts in the packaging. That of course is just a guess...
