Yea, the white seems too white. But this should darken with time.... or tea!

Well, I was planning on silver plating the stock tie rods, but I came across some brand new Tecnacraft Ti Rods, and could not resist using them on this build. I was planning on keeping this completely stock, and mimicking the instruction manual as much as possible, but I love the look of the Tecnacraft rods too much. The rear dog bones are also new vintage titanium pieces, same as I put on my other RC10T build.

The white has already yellowed significantly, and should be the perfect cream color soon.

The coloring in most of my photos sucks! Everything always looks so 'cold.' I need to learn to correctly adjust the settings to show these vehicles how they actually look in person.

Getting close to completion. I am trying to build it to the instruction manual specifications (using the electronics and layout shown in the manual and on the box). This is not an exact science as there are different parts shown at different points in the manual.

There are still a few things to get just right, but it is getting quite close. Still undecided how I will paint the body.

From original Robocop: I LIKE IT! Sticking with the manual build is a nice touch as well. Can't go wrong with the fffffffffffffffactory manual.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Update -In an effort to get this truck as close to the manual pictures as I can, I removed the Technacraft ti rods and installed the kit supplied units. Since the tie rods in the manual are a shiny silver color, I had to remove the black from the kit rods and make them match. Only the 6 arm rods are silver, as the servo and steering center rod show as black finish. I followed suite.

I also finally found and mounted a matching servo arm to the Airtronics 94732 servo.

I still need to find a matching red Sanyo Reedy battery pack. Once I have that I can hook up the wiring, and really make it match the manual photos.

(the front body mount is not installed in the below photos)

Please let me know if you see anything else that needs to change in order to match the manual pictures.

I didn’t comb the entire thread but we’re you going to do the buggy rear carriers and flanged bearings to match the instructions?

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

You need to modify a buggy nose plate. Note the servo mount holes.

I’d have to look back through the manual. But I think it shows the other carriers as well in other steps.

Yes, the manual is a little frustrating because it shows different parts in different pictures. I thought (like Romulus 22 says) that it showed both versions of the rear hubs. However I just took a close look at the manual and it only shows the buggy hubs. I guess I need to make a change.

It's been awhile since I worked on this truck. I noticed a few other details I need to correct, such as the rear body mounts.

Scr8p - Yes, I wasn't going to take it that far originally, but I think I should now. Thanks.

^ Aha! That was bugging me too. Thanks!

I have buggy style hubs and finally a SCR battery pack coming. Still looking for a donor buggy front plate that I can modify to match the manual. Please let me know if you have one available. Thanks!
