man...that is more than a total bummer...scr8p wrote:here's the deal.........
rpm made 2 different topshafts for their 2.65 stealth conversion. one for a slipper, and one for the hydradive. to even being thinking about using a b4/t4 slipper, you'd have to have the hydradrive topshaft.
now will a b4/t4 slipper fit on the topshaft made for the hydra? yes........ kinda. can you put the slipper hubs, discs, and spur gear on the shaft with any interference of the motor plate? yes you can. can you install the b4/t4 slipper spring on the hydradrive topshaft? the answer is no. the diameter of the shaft is larger than the spring, and the entire lenght of the shaft in general is too long.
could you machine the topshaft to make it all work? probably. is it worth it? not in my opinion.

Re: NEED Help RC10T Restoration
Actually all you have to do is press the gear off the topshaft, the AE and Losi hydra and RPM are not one piece- they are press fit gears
, they repeat in reverse

Re: NEED Help RC10T Restoration
I thought the RPM "hydra" top shaft used a super long set screw that threaded into it?

Re: NEED Help RC10T Restoration
It does, maybe I didn't read the question correctly, I was stating that you can run a Hydra with the RPM 2.65 tranny if you press the gears off the top shaft and switch them from the smaller 2.65 gear on the hydra shaft

Re: NEED Help RC10T Restoration
I tried the B3/T3 slipper assy on my 10T, and I never got a good feel for the small step in between the slipper being locked-up and slipping excessively.
I even tried the Robinson Racing "keyed" B3/T3 slipper assembly, and I didn't notice much of a difference.
I was hoping I would be able to run the B4/T4 dual disc slipper assembly, as a logical progression...

Re: NEED Help RC10T Restoration
and i'm guessing that you have a 2.65 rpm trans?
go buy a b4 topshaft and all b4 related slipper parts. press the topshaft gears off of both topshafts, then press the rpm gear on the b4 topshaft.
the only reason the b4 slipper setup doesn't work directly on the rpm hydra topshaft is because the spring is a smaller diameter than the topshaft. if you turned the rpm hydra topshaft down so that the spring would slide over, it would probably work just fine. but there won't be much wall thickness left where that long set screw goes in. i'd be afraid of it cracking.
