Let me know which one you think is best!!
I vote for the second version + color, minus the wing.
The wheels look great!
So I assume you like the silver rims with some color on the body and get rid of the wing. You don't like either style of wing?
Also the Red one is out of the picture now?
The second one was inspired by Brandon's Ultima he posted. I had to go another route when I also saw the sand rail buggy next to that lovely lady.
AKA ( settin03 R/C hobbies and more ) on Ebay
Since being on this site I have found that I have too many parts and R/C Models. Please help me get rid of them.

They both look great.
I think you'll have an easier time with finding a paint combination with the silver wheels. Polished aluminum just goes with everything. The red anodized wheels look good usually only with a similar, (red) or neutral color such as black, silver, white, or grey.
The wing looks good on a RC race buggy, but you don't see them on the real thing. If your goal is to make a sand rail replica, I'd leave the wing for another project.
The cage on the Ultima has a neat realistic look about it. In the 1:1 sand rail photo, just past the pretty girl, (who must be someone's grandmother by now) there is a buggy which has a similar look to an old school Ultima...
Projects and shelfers: Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...
I've been collecting parts over the last several months to upgrade an original Ultima. I really wanted a tranny with a slipper on it and I picked up a used Pro-X tranny. For some reason I thought I would be able to drop it right in with no mods....

Just sifting thru a box of parts I got in a deal and found some pro-x odds and ends. This was in the bag. I think it may be your needed spacer. Shoot me a pm with your name and address if you want it....I don't need it!
Just wanted to get a census on if I should replicate my late Ultima that I sold to one of our own RC10talk members. I truly liked the look but at the time didn't really appreciate it. ( Now I do )
What do you think?

I dig the look.
Totally unique!
They look like oversized VW (Baja) rims. Perfect for those (1/10th) scale 20 tires.
My latest project is coming to an end son, and I have started to plan for my next project!
This new project involves an Ultima, and new rear trailing A-arms from A&L (the conversion kit for the Ultima). But one important part is missing,...

I'd sure love to know if there are aftermarket blue alloy control arms to fit the Optima series! I see lots on eBay for other cars that look like the might fit, but trying to get sellers to answer messages asking about specific measurements is like...
I decided to build up this ultima 2 buggy. I had two buggys that I figure could make a decent one. I have used body first epoxied the cracks in the body from the underside also using little lexan pieces i saved from cutting out the windows as...

It does accept saddle , For stick packs I have always just clapped it down the same way and it was fine.
I found it. I new I had it.
Ok, every part is new.
I want to make an upper plate.
I want an A&L transmission in there.
A question.
What 2.2 wheels will fit this car.

Here's the photos Jerzi. The first picture shows the Ofna CRT.5 wheel (part number 40867) and the HoBao Mini ST wheel (part number 11274W) Both have plenty of positive offset and the HoBao wheel is slightly wider. The second photo shows the HoBao...
I won this car awhile ago, I believe it was a BIN. I was surprised nobody had grabbed it yet, possibly because it was a crappy auction picture, or maybe it was because it was simply listed as an Ultima with no other description. Or maybe it was a...

the nose used the far holes in you car.I think if use short wheel base you can fit the body perfectly.
Ok, first off, have you ever felt you have gotten yourself in over your head on a certain project(s)?
I have. I got my hands on a very good condition Turbo Ultima a while ago, and have been searching for parts since then to get it where I want it....

If Marwan made the XL decals I would go that route, but he hasn't made them yet.
If you (or anyone else) has a high quality scan to share, I can vectorize them for you and make up an Alps set. Also I think there is a member on here that intends to...
