project build up- Ultima 2
I decided to build up this ultima 2 buggy. I had two buggys that I figure could make a decent one. I have used body first epoxied the cracks in the body from the underside also using little lexan pieces i saved from cutting out the windows as renforcements. then sanded it down and i will prime it soon.
I have two of the same chassis's and a mix lot of parts that I just washed. I need to sort and pick the best parts i have to build the car.
Heres some pictures of where i am starting from.

The Ultimas are great cars,I had a ball restoring my Turbo Ultima.
I have a real tidy set of silver/chrome Turbo Ultima wheels with as new Bridgestones on them,if they're any use to you?
This is what I started with...
Finito-the only used parts left are the front bulkhead, shocks, swaybars and rear wheels...:

Re: project build up- Ultima 2
Made some progress tonight, after polishing up the shock towers and other little pieces. I installed them. Here's a picture.

Re: project build up- Ultima 2
How's the stiffness of the Kelron chassis? It does give the car a far more modern look, bit like the andy's rc10's.
Since you're using this chassis: check with a01-butal: he has an undercowl for the ultima outlaw. I believe their chassis are identical and the under cowl fits closely around it. With some velcro on the body and cowl you could probably do away with body clips and body posts. Close the body holes with a decal too.
Which ultima model are the alu shocktowers from, outlaw or the oval version?

The chassis is flexible until the upper deck gets bolted on. The buggy is the ultima 2 and the shock towers are also.
I have found some kyosho platinum front shocks , in my parts bin. I could use some rears. Also after seeing the ulitmamatics blog the ultima in the picture uses chrome rear wheels from a optima on the rear ( holes type ) and tomahawk front, i have a fronts and if i could fine the rear i would go with that wheel set up.

It does accept saddle , For stick packs I have always just clapped it down the same way and it was fine.
