You know, I was very concerned about the feelings of a reproduction. So I asked, and they said they never had any intention of building it and they consider it flattering that someone made the car finally. They are all happy to see people enjoying the car.Niki wrote:Feels good to be part of the team in projects like this

I got similar feedback from Curtis. That's why it's so cool to follow all these builds.

I'm tempted to do a Kinwald build like Rod mentioned to me, we'll see.

Re: Slotcarrod's Cliff Lett 91 Worlds Team Moo Build
I also got this autograph for the car, Derek Furutani. Derek was the guy who originally painted bodies for Cliff, and had painted the original!
Derek said the whole Team Moo paint was started by Mark Pavidis.

Re: Slotcarrod's Cliff Lett 91 Worlds Team Moo Build
Good eye Ed! Honestly did not notice that. Could be to get more weight on the front wheels, but I have a feeling Niki made use of the space to fit a modern size battery is my guess. Not sure if the Masami car was like this?edwin pibal wrote:just drooling over the pictures and noticed the rear battery holder was moved forward.

I would like to get the car as close as possible but I feel bad drilling more holes in the chassis for the battery box, let me think about this!

I got these from a Hairymuffin

Yes they are getting the black dye, don't cry Aaron!

And these used 151's from Aaron in Spokane, who I also had the honour of meeting last spring. (new servo and white arm from shop in SoCal)
The used ones will need major restos and will be used in the Moo RC10ST as well!

Re: Slotcarrod's Cliff Lett 91 Worlds Team Moo Build
Ed, there are indeed three different mounting positions for the battery tray! Good eye!
I guess I will be drilling after all!

Re: Slotcarrod's Cliff Lett 91 Worlds Team Moo Build
curious!
dos that mean there were holes for the front battery holder too ? or maybe he ran 5 cells with one on top ?
so many questions!
thank you so much for sharing the pictures on the last few pages
I think Niki and Jake must feel like proud parents

Re: Slotcarrod's Cliff Lett 91 Worlds Team Moo Build
I can't really tell from the photo, but it looks like 3 holes in a row for the rear battery cup, I wonder if they played with different battery arrangements?
