i was doing some googling on this car, and found the 3 pieces (trophy, car, and plaque) were auctioned off from race rock in june of 2007.

car - http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/3739667
plaque - http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/3739668

What ever happened to Aveox? They kind of led the way in brushless tech didn't theny? And that was a long time before it boomed.

Their roots are in RC, but they have moved on to industrial apps.

Aveox was definitely the beginning of brushless, I believe in electric aircraft first.

Ha i remember that car. i went to race rock about 7 years ago and saw it i believe i have a pic of it in the show case.
It was and I have a pic of it (dry rotted tires and all) at Race Rock.
I will post it tonight if I can find it. Funny we were on my honeymoon eating there, surrounded by big dollar race cars and I was freakin out about this little rc car in the corner of a glass case
People thought I was nuts!

makes me wish I had taken photos of my (pieces yet to be found at moms) 12L circa 1991, with the 10 cells and the T1. (It said you could use 10 cells, so I did, just before the end)

Re: Kent Clausen's 91 Insane Speed Run RC10lss
i think i found it. he won the 91 roar on road nationals with it. i'm a little confused with the article in rcca though. it shows his winning car with the body off being a 10l, but in the list of the A main drivers, it has him running a reflex 10. i personally don't remember joel johnson running anything associated........ ever. i think they just put the right face with the wrong chassis.

Joel ran a lot of cars, including a 12L. Don't know about the 10L, but I have a Gene Husting video where he is running a 12L at some race. I think he jumped around a bit.

Re: Kent Clausen's 91 Insane Speed Run RC10lss
with my excitement, i just have to post this......
thanks to al snaggin' a couple auction for me, i will be able to build "my" holy grail. i've wanted to build one of the hpi insane speed 10lss conversions since i saw the ad for it in rcca back in 93-94. a couple weeks back, a nip insane chassis popped up on the bay, and i just had to have it. at the same time, there was an hpi parts lot in a different auction that had some of the parts i'd need to build it. al also found a uk seller that had the insane side chassis brace, so he grabbed them as well. so now, along wirth building the clausen replica from 91, i'll also be building a replica of gary hamiton's hpi insane speed run car from 92.
