The Shinwa Motor Dresser allowed you to measure amp draw versus rpm. I was great when determining the differences in brush cuts and motor timing.

When I was a lad I never had the money to spend on a Dyno and probably never saw the need at my level but now I find myself curious about them , I guess I'm trying to work out how curious in relation to cost !
I have an inductive loop digital amp...

The amp draw goes hand in hand with temperature increase , its easy to wind on a lot of timing to make a motor run faster but it gets very hot therefore inefficient and the motor cooks and dies , there's a sweet spot with timing where it increases...

I've been watching these Tekin 900 dynos sell from $70 up to $300. I found one toward the lower half of that price range and decided to snag it.

The Tekin Dyno doesn't seem to like this power supply. The power output keeps cycling between 11.98v and 12.17v and the Dyno test motor keeps increasing and dropping revs. I tried out a 14v 10a Novak N-power supply and I get a good steady motor...

Just getting this started. It'll be a little while before I can put any data together.

Anyway, I picked up this Bud's motor dyno, complete with box, instructions, and a couple motors.

For me, it's just something else to amuse myself with. I like building and tinkering with stuff, and this fits perfectly.

Let's be honest. I paid $50 for it and it came with two motors. Even if I never touch it again, I'm not out much.

So growing up I started in R/C when the comm was king but being only a young kid all I ever had were Traxxas stinger motors in my pede and rusty. The last year or so I gave up on BL and went back to the old standard and started buying up used motors...

I'm curious what my brushed motor weighed, I think it was a Parma 14x2 Cyclone? Anybody know the weight or that of a similar motors? My Novak 5.5 weighs 187g according to their website, which seems heavier. Thanks.
