? I never stopped tinkering ... been running a little more though: much to my own content.

With all the running I've done more work on runners rather than start new builds, that's true.
Yes, an electrified nitro USA-1: that's kind of how it looks to me too, or one of the monster truggies build on 1/8 buggy chassis.
Unfortunately, it still uses the more fragile components of 1/10 buggies and I'll have to compensate for that with low speed, very, very, low speed.
Running in our tiny living room and kitchen: slow, slipping wheels, and far too little turning (need to look up how to switch the reverse back on on the ESC).
Rather noisy and very little roll-out.
There's definitely going to be an mk2 of this one: I'm thinking the clod tires and wheels may have to go and get replaced with some crawler or SC ones. (I'm going to take it to the club sometime and ask to borrow a set first to try). The reason is simple: they are so big and heavy they put too much strain on the drive and suspension components.
I actually already tried to put the tires of the green truck on (previous page). But when I pulled them of the 2WD front wheels they just tore at the bead
Another thing I may change is the wheelbase: a shorter dogbone on the front would let me move the ultima transmisson almost against the steering set up. That should sort the maneuverability out.
Clod wheel adapters to 12mm hexes: just an old set of touring car wheels I cut up and a special nut. I'll take pictures when I take them off next time.
14mm hexes? not for a clodbuster wheel, e-maxx yes.
