[quote="Coelacanth"]Dennis, what front tires did you use here? I like those, I would buy a couple sets for my OptiMutt project. Also, what diameter wheels do they fit? Thank you.
I can´t remember wich bag I pulled them from, perhaps CRP.
The rims are 2,1 and the tires sit very firm.

Re: Scorpion fibreglass project
The bottom retainers are aluminum, it´s a nice looking shock, but just as bad as the red Kyosho´sron wrote:Oh thanks Dennis, I was just curious about the shocks, cause even the seller did not know, but helped me as much as he could on identifying them. Wow, indeed I am new to the kyosho vintage rc lineup, I just recently got to know about AYKs and man these things are beautifully constructed. Love the kyosho vintage lineup.
still waiting on the parts man, one more question about the shocks, since its still on its way, are the bottom spring retainers chromed plastic or aluminum??? Would be sweet if they are aluminum.
Will you be updating your thread? Like to see how your buggy looks

Re: Scorpion fibreglass project
awesome looking scorpion, Dennis
. love the retro body shell.
These oldies are just to die for. I am now going to grag tamiya and kyosho vintages at flea markets now, missed a super hornet for $40, had everything, futaba gear and all and a vintage sand scorcher complete with body shell, battery and radio, but the SS was HEAVILY used, also going for $40. But I did buy a kyosho turbo raider in new condition for $30, looks to only have been built. I went for the GOLD shocks
, nice. I was thinking they were kyosho golds but turns out these turbo raiders were fitted with duratrax gold shocks, cause they were leaking. What a bummer, thought they were kyoshos, no wonder the manual lists the kyosho golds as upgrades! Well these duratrax golds are still great.
Guess the shock springs of the ishipla are a bit too stiff then, only thing would be to put soft damper oil as such
BUT, despite its not so good performance, I LOVE it for its looks, man
and I am glad its all AL except the bottom shock end. I won mine at $47 on ebay with free shipping. Considering these are rare, I am glad I bid till the end.
