bolink 'lowering kit' help

guys, what the hell am i doing wrong here?

maybe the answer is obvious... but to me there really isnt any other way it will work, and its anything but a lowering kit.

i'd put some limiters in the shocks. it looks to me like you could add quite a few. being as though it's an "on-road conversion", you don't need alot of travel.

did it come with a diagram of some sort? i personally don't think i've seen one, that i can remember.

naw just instructions for putting the shocks together and instructions that tell ya too swap out the old towers with the new ones and put the new shocks on. i've had a few kits and a spare set of shocks forever, just figured i'd use one.

it actually works out pretty rad the way it is but it doesnt lower anything but how far down you can mount a full body w/o the shock tower poking thru the top.

almost seems like parts are missing. Maybe a different shock tower??

was this kit meant for the longer front arms? That may move the lower shock mounting position further outward and reduce the ride height.

I don't think it's meant to use the long arms ande here's why. The dampers are of the same vintage as the ones on my frog http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=1636&id=34 which was around the 83-85 time frame which was much earlier than the long arm RC10's

I think you just need to put limiters in them.

No limiters, just move the shock collars back up to the top of the shock. We ran those on our cars on carpet ovals. That was actually the first aftermarket item I ever put on an RC10 back in '84 or so.

They had very little suspension. Adjust the shocks so you get about 3/8" of ground clearance on the front & rear when the car is loaded up. It's low-tech, but it worked enough for 1984 standards.

you'd need to put a straight axle under it, goin' gasser style.

That was a lowering kit, no? It was designed around ovals... carpet and dirt, IIRC.
