Kyosho Old Style shocks full aluminium
Hi Guy's
I'm not a Kyosho fan and obviously not a specialist.
I have from a long time a full set of really good condition Old style Kyosho shocks.
I don't know which car fit this shocks, but if somebody could provide me informations and may be interrested...

They look like Option House 'PLATINUM's if you ask me. They have different upper and lower spring retainers too. They came out on the Turbo Ultima, Turbo Rocky and Optima Mid SE buggies.

Are you sure Jason?
I never owned these platinum shocks, but the knurled part where the O rings mount does not look like anything I remember from kyosho.

They look like Platinum's to me.
They match the shocks on my Turbo Ultima that I've owned since it was new.
But those spring mounts are another story...
They look sweet!
I wonder if they were custom made?

Yeah, those are platinums with custom parts. If anything, the adjustment clips were a weak point since the easily cracked. Also, if you lost a lower spring retainer, you were screwed. Nothing fit those due to the hex and thick shock shaft.

Re: Kyosho Old Style shocks full aluminium
I am sure that these shocks are the Kyosho Option House Platinum shocks........... while the spring collars are some kind of after-market products...........
for me ...........I won't try to tighten the screw nut in the collar......... coz' it will cause a dimple over the shock cylinder........

Re: Kyosho Old Style shocks full aluminium
i have seen a similar version in the gold shock made by option house with the same spring clamps.the bottoms on these are a lil different though from the golds. very nice shock to own.although the gold versions were better than the platinums. intersting to see never the less.
2nd place is just the 1st loser

Re: Kyosho Old Style shocks full aluminium
When I had my Turbo Ultima back in the day the shocks seemed a little bit bigger volume but Im going from memory here.
Clearly they werent all they cracked up to be otherwise they would have kept them going through the models but the GOLD's were back and would be making their way on to the Lazer's etc..
I'd like a set of platinum's for if nothing else something pretty to look at-
