vintage rc10 shocks

Post by liltexmp »

New here and was just curious about what is the deal with the shocks that have bleed off's on top with tube running between them? I got a set on an ebay buy and haven't seen anyone else with those types. It is an A stamp chassis w/Andy front and rear arms. Thanks for the help.

Are you talking about something like these?

It's hard to tell if that's what you mean, but if it is they are normally used on large or heavy monster trucks. They look cool, but I'm not sure exactly why they are made that way. Obviously must have something to do with oil displacement under a heavy load. I'm no expert though.

THUMBS, those are reservoir shocks -- they've made them for all sorts of vehicles for years, concept was brilliant but didn't really work on anything...........

......... but I do remember seeing something once where the shock caps had a bleeder valve and a tube to run between the shocks -- but it was just another one of the over-engineered bits they came out with back in the day, that was hot for about half a second.

Neat find either way. :mrgreen:

I remembered that too, but thought I must be wrong because it seems like kind of a stupid concept. That's a long way for it to travel. lite, maybe you can post a pic when you get a chance. It would be cool to see. If it was an RC10 application it is likely posted here somewhere. Maybe another member knows. :wink:

that's what you would call a "home made" setup.

thanks for the help I'll have to get some new shocks for it then. I was also wondering it the steering linkage was homemade?
I also got a B stamp car w/ stealth trans that I'm going to use the white parts to make the first one look better.

Why? the B car the newer and better car for runing and racing. The stealth is 10 times stronger then that old 6 gear,
Twiceblown= 93 F150 Lightning
393 and two turbos @ #10Psi
= 10.90@126 in street trim

The B car is in worst shape than the older one, but has all white parts. No other reason really
