Re: My Pro-X project
Yeah, I really like the way this one came out. This is the one buggy I'd like to eventually add to my Kyosho family tree.
Re: My Pro-X project
Thanks for the comments guys, it helps keep me going! I got up this morning and decided to paint the wheel covers. That just about finishes this project minus stickers - anyone know where to get some vintage Kyosho stickers? I may add some period correct electronics but I don't expect I'll be driving this one.

Re: My Pro-X project
I know where you can get some vintage kyosho decals; just PM the guy above
He's got a maxxum ff decal sheet coming from me and kyosho allways put more logos on the sheet than you really need
More serious; maybe Marwan can help out; he delivers repros of the decals with his reproed body shells

dye them blue. if you don't like it then dye them black. you can always go darker...

Re: My Pro-X project
Thanks for the compliment. The color I chose came out a lot greener than I thought it would. I'm thinking about redoing them in black but then they don't look bad the way they are.

Re: My Pro-X project
i agree, the color came out wrong. i just don't want to sound like a basher because the car has come a looonnng way and i am really impressed. it would look better black. can you also dye the trans case and ball ends or are they the wrong material?? in the end, do what you would like and
NICE

Re: My Pro-X project
Nope, the trans and ball ends are plastic, not nylon. They won't dye. Besides, they provide contrast, which I think is aesthetically important. The white stripes on the side of the car and the rims kind of pull it all together. The arms would all be white too if they hadn't been so fugly to start with. Maybe I'll run across some new ones someday...

Re: My Pro-X project
good point.
Maybe check out some white springs for the blue shocks too.
My hotshot ultima has red springs to tie them to the body also. Bit of a hassle to find the right diameter and proper stiffnes, but so cool when it works out. I believe the fornts and backs were out of 2 different sets too.

Hmmm, I really hadn't considered the springs. Maybe I can cook something up.

Re: My Pro-X project
Very nice build. It is inspiring me to get on the ball with mine....
The XX body seems to fit nicely on the car. Maybe I need to ditch the search for the impossible to find body and just go that route....
BTW, Academy makes a molded wing for their Sport 2wd buggy that looks remarkably similar to the original Pro-X molded wing. The matching wing you have should probably stay on there though. Painting the wheel covers really sets it off well too.
Kyosho has a full sheet of sponsor decals that have both the new graphics and the older style scripts on it. Nice decal sheet for $12. I can get you a part # later if you wish.

Re: My Pro-X project
Thanks for the encouragement! I really like the way this car is shaping up. I kind of knackered the paint on the wing though - got the two white stripes upside down! If I can grab an Acadamy wing it would give me the chance to fix that blunder. Yes, that body fit very, very well. The contour of the chassis was not exact but it fit with very few mods. The rear body mount actally lined up too! The only shortcoming with that body is that it's just a wee bit short in the nose for this chassis. Not enough to notice unless you're being hyper-critical. Yes I'd very much like the p/n of that decal sheet. I would definitely spring for a couple of them since I have a few Kyoshos sans decals.
