He better uses a different pc to browse the net then: wouldn't want the tempfiles to eat the space containing his lost files 8)

Hi guys and thanx for all the help/tips so far. I've been working alot lately and with the computer being the way it is I just haven't had the ambition to fight with it...I'm allready married so that takes the rest of the fight I allready have in me  . I actually was on a little earlier with mine and fought thru a few pms but got on with my 7 year old daughters computer to do some surfing and found myself back here. What I have done so far is get the auto updates turned off but what took me a half hour to do a month ago now takes all night with the troubled pc. Gonna tackle some more stuff on saturday or sunday to see if I can get my info I want to save off the troubled pc so I can wipe it clean, reinstall windows and use it for a backup pc...gotta do something since I'm getting tired of looking at Tinkerbell all over the place on this pc  .
Thanx again to all that pm'd and have talked me thru this on the phone so far and look forward to getting past this speedbump.

Using a troublesome pc with a harddisk near to failure as a backup system is not your best idea. The day you need that backup it might be corrupeted all over.
